Speaking at the Reuters Global Technology Summit in california, Meyer said AMD's main division would end the year profitable and with positive free money flow if the computer market improves in the second half from the first, as is the case usually.
NEW YORK—Advanced Micro Devices Inc. expects its core business to make a net profit by year's end with the personal computer market potentially stronger in the second half, Chief Executive Dirk Meyer said Monday (May 18).
The two companies have consolidated reporting and that consolidated report won't show a profit, he said.
A spokeswoman said Meyer's forecast excluded GlobalFoundries, a joint venture between AMD and an investment arm of Abu Dhabi that took over the U.S. chip company's manufacturing assets in March.
Meyer was giving his first in-depth interview since the European Commission last week ruled that Intel Corp, the world's largest maker of microchips, had given illegal rebates to computer makers to try and depress AMD's market share.
"On the assumption they return to at least nominal seasonality from a growth perspective, we'll be in nice shape to leave this year with a profit and free money flow," Meyer said. "I'm hopeful things will stabilize and we'll see a resumption of growth in the back half of the year."
"Over time, it's going to allow us to more successfully compete for business," he said.
Intel was ordered to end its practices with immediate effect. Meyer said he expected no "light switch" effect from the ruling, but was optimistic about the company's future.
Asked if AMD might seek additional funding from Abu Dhabi on top of the investment already gained in the foundry venture, Meyer said he had not spoken to representatives of the oil-rich Emirate.

Metabolism; It's a word that everyone who has ever tried to lose weight is familiar with for the simple reason that if one can speed up their metabolism they can lose weight. But why does it cause weight loss and what's the best way to tap into this magical weight loss machine?

There is much talk that some foods may even be of the negative calorie variety. That is it actually takes more caloric energy to digest them then they themselves provide. It is thought many fruits and vegetables fall into this category because of their high fiber content. Many people have had success with this type of diet, but the fact remains that eating healthy is a good first step to boosting your metabolism.
The other factor that is needed to speed up metabolism is exercise. By using a combination of aerobic and weight training you can increase your calorie burning by several factors. Not only will you expend large amounts of energy during the times you exercise but also post exercise as your muscles recover and rebuild. It is also known that the more lean muscle mass you have the greater your caloric expenditure will be just maintaining that muscle.

You better hold onto your head, mate
The Sniper has been a tricky class to update. In particular, designing an alternative to the Sniper Rifle has been a challenge. To understand why, we need to go back, way back, into the mists of time, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and we started working on TF2. If it helps, you can listen to the Doctor Who Theme while you read.
In our multiplayer FPS games, players tend to die a lot. Death is one of the great feedback mechanisms we have in the game, helping you evaluate your own skill versus that of your opponents, and the viability of the tactics being employed by each of you. Being hopeless optimists, we'd like your deaths to be positive experiences. When we started working on TF2, 22 years ago, we decided to examine the things that affected how players felt about their deaths in TFC. Our starting theory was that, for death to be a positive experience, players had to feel like they could have avoided dying if they'd done something different. We found two factors that seemed to be important in light of that theory:
The first was whether or not you understand what killed you. If you don't know what killed you, that death is failing in providing you the feedback it's supposed to, and you won't be able to figure out what you could have done differently. Unsurprisingly, we saw that these deaths were highly aggravating to players, and in sufficient number caused new players to stop playing entirely. Trying to reduce the number of these deaths in TF2 was done through a variety of changes. It was one of the reasons why we chose to remove the hand-held grenades that each class had in TFC, which were one of the primary causes of these deaths. It was one of several goals that led to the creation of the freezecam.
The second was whether you felt you were actually engaged with the person who killed you. Dying to someone you weren't engaged with, especially when you were already engaged with someone else, was aggravating. Even worse was dying to someone who you couldn't have engaged with, even if you chose to. In that case, you're very unlikely to believe you could have done anything differently to survive.
In particular, the second seemed to be the root cause of the hatred of Snipers. You're often killed by them while you're engaged with an enemy in the foreground, and most of the time the Sniper is so far away it feels like you couldn't have dealt with him even if you didn't have enemies nearby. In fact, the Sniper's goal is to create that relationship: he specifically wants to fight enemies outside their engagement range, because that's his primary advantage.
Which brings us back to the Sniper Rifle unlockable. In an effort to reduce some of the aggravation that other players feel towards the Sniper, we chose the goal of designing an unlockable that encouraged the Sniper to get a little closer to his target. We want him to give up some of his primary advantage in return for something else, so that enemies he kills feel like they were engaged with them, and feel like they could have survived if they'd just managed to fight a little better.

You might be a forex trader yourself, or maybe you are just curious about how forex markets work, whomever you are, you need to learn how to seperate the legit forex brokers from the scam merchants. The internet has a great deal of genuine forex dealers offering quality services, it is also unfortunately infected with just as many thieves dressed up as companies who will gladly take your money and then dissapear. This fear of being taken advantage of puts a lot of people off the idea of trading forex, this shouldn't be the case.
Now there are a few key differences between stock markets and forex markets that you are going to have to learn:
1. Forex has no centralised exchange house.
2. Forex trading is 24/7.
3. Forex is a largely unregulated market.
Looking at that list, it kind of seems that the forex market is akin to a wild west town full of outlaws and gunslingers. In this market there is noone to complain to, noone who will hold your hand. So how can you find the genuine dealers amid all the garbage? Do not trust any broker whose reputation cannot be confirmed, and whose company is not tied to the forex market.
The attraction of the forex market can be overwhelming. The scent of huge profits often overpower the common sense of the average person. They enter eagerly, just waiting to invest their life savings.Lying in wait are the scammers with huge promises, they capture the new investors money, and suddenly dissapear.
The good news is, is that many genuine forex brokers do actually exist. Easy-Forex, Oanda, and many more have proven track records that justify their positions in the market. Usually if a company is small, has no affiliation to forex or a financial institution, then stay away. Also a word on looking for reviews about brokers online. You can find honest reviews on forex brokers online, however there seems to be a habit of late of competing forex companies, and/or traders engaging in negative marketing of each other. Dig deeper and you will usually find an honest answer.
So remember:
1. Validate the companies reputation.
2. Make sure they are tied to the forex legitimatly.
3. If the company is small and unheard of, stay away.
4. Finally if the broker has a proven online track record, a legitimate financial institution affiliation, and a few good reviews, give them a try.
My ultimate advice is, if unsure, invest the smallest amount you can, and find out for yourself. This is how i usually used to find brokers, and it worked for me.

How to Checking GEM!!!
5 Step for checking Gem
1. Observation with naked eye, magnifying glass or microscope with amplification 10-30X to see color, transparency, facet, phosphorescence, light spread, blemish and etc.
2. Observation with microscope with amplification 30-200X for classification gems according to internal attributes.
3. Finding the index of refraction by using refractometer of both flat-shiny gem and arched gem. Birefringence is the difference value between maximum and minimum of the index of refraction.
4. Observation twin colors and light attribute of gem by using polarize scope. Find light path in the gem.
5. Additional observation.
- Use spectroscope to observe light absorption in wave length that is able to be seen with
the naked eye.
- Find specific gravity.
- Use ultraviolet light to observe natural fluorescence.
- Use light filter glass to observe synthesized gem.
- Screen real diamond out from non-real diamond.

DIY USB "Hard Drive"
DIY Hard Drive For 7 Step!!!
step 1Find a candidate.
Any Hard Drive should do..
step 2Dismantle..
Take the Hard Drive apart...
step 3Compare
Make sure your USB hub will fit, either with the plastic case on, or not...
step 4Hub
For this purpose, I removed the plastic case.
step 5Install
I placed the "nekkid" USB hub into the area where the platter used to be.
Note: I was only placing this temporarily, if I was going to keep this mod permanent, I would glue the hub in either using epoxy or hot glue.
Edit: I forgot to mention, if this was going to be used permanently, I would coat the circuit board with epoxy, just like I do with Flash Drives.
step 6Flash Me!
Now add your Flash Drives, you may have to remove the casing for some to fit well.
step 7Button it up.
Replace the cover to the Hard Drive, and plug in!
Now you will have a "new" Flash Drive that will be sure to get some comments.
Also, there is a way, I haven't done it, but with a certain flavor of Linux, you can install Linux onto all 4 of the Flash drives in a RAID configuration, assuming you have all the same capacities.
